Umeå University, the host of MIRAI 2.0 R&I Week 2023, was founded in 1965, and is one of Sweden’s largest comprehensive universities with over 37,000 students and 4,000 faculty and staff. The University conducts research and education in medicine, science and technology, social sciences, arts and humanities, and the educational sciences. Umeå University is the place where the revolutionary gene-editing tool CRISPR-Cas9 was discovered that resulted in the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2020.
